Classes designed for a safe exploration of your body, mind and soul. New Students - First Class is only $5.00 with web coupon! Our classes are carefully designed so you may derive the maximum benefit from your experience. Following are some guidelines and suggestions that you will find useful in your practice of Body Awareness Yoga. All classes begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen, and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation and/or meditation. Please let us know if you are under a doctor’s care or if you have any specific health conditions, such as high or low blood pressure, back problems, sinus troubles, recent major surgery, or if you are pregnant, etc. We will then be able to give you special guidance. To receive maximum benefit from yoga, it is preferable that you practice daily (or at least four times a week) what you are learning in class. You are encouraged to ask questions in class about anything that is unclear to you. Regular attendance is highly recommended. Please try to arrive 10 min. early so you have time to relax before class begins. Door will be locked when class begins to assure privacy and safety (so don’t be late!!!) When you enter the center, leave your worldly cares and troubles outside the door. No cell phones are allowed. Picture yourself entering an environment of peace and relaxation. Lie down quietly on your blanket or mat, relax and allow yourself to enter into the experience of being in the “here and now”. After the relaxation at the end of the class, try to hold on to the feeling of relaxation and well-being by maintaining silence as much as possible. It is best to perform postures on an empty stomach. Allow one to two hours before practicing. You may, however, have a glass of juice or piece of fruit up to an hour before. The benefits of Yoga available to you are many, regardless of your age, flexibility, or degree of proficiency in the exercises. We will be happy to offer assistance in whatever way possible. Please bring water, a mat or towel to class and please avoid wearing strong fragrances. Body Awareness Class Descriptions..... Chair: Easy breath and stretch class in chairs and standing.
